After playing Pika in Brawl again, I decided I wanted to train a Pikachu in White version. But then, I looked at Pikachu’s page on Serebii to decide its moveset and remembered… Pikachu is terrible T^T.
Unless you want something along the lines of Substitute or Knock Off, Pikachu’s movepool is no better than thunder/bolt/volt tackle, brick break, grass knot, and… uh, umm, focus punch? Then there’s Hidden Power, but I don’t know enough about IVs to get to be Ice or Ground type. (That and the patience to hatch the right nature AND Hidden Power type). Then there’s Surf! Which would be perfect but, you can’t PokéShift Pokémon with HMs to B/W.
And aside from that, Pikachu doesn’t hit too hard without its signature item, Light Ball (which you could have only gotten for B/W if you got that Japanese singing Pikachu event, and I don’t like going on Trade Boards and asking for a legit one. I do things myself or with help from friends.). With Light Ball, Pikachu is pretty strong; doubling its physical and special attacks, but without it… poor Pika can’t KO. (Also, Light Ball gives Pika Volt Tackle as a Pichu, so yeah).
Pikachu has a 1% chance of holding a Light Ball, but in Black and White, it doesn’t appear in the wild. Also, you can’t transfer items (T^T my choice items) from previous games (WHICH REALLY SUCKS!!!). Hopping to see this remedied in B2/W2.
I like Pikachu in all, but its not very good. If I can get ahold of a Light Ball, I’ll try Pika on one of my teams, but for now… I don’t know.

The Nintendo Direct broadcast today has revealed two new Pokémon-related apps for the Nintendo 3DS: 『ポケモンARサーチャー』 Pokémon AR Searcher and 『ポケモン全国図鑑Pro』 Pokémon National Pokédex Pro.
Pokémon AR Searcher is a shooting-style game that puts Pokémon in real-world environments through the use of the 3DS back cameras. The app allows Pokémon to be caught and transferred to copies of Pokémon Black and White 2. The official Japanese Pokémon site mentions that rare Pokémon may be found through this app. The app will be available starting June 23 for ¥300 in the Nintendo eShop.
An updated version of Pokédex 3D, Pokémon National Pokédex Pro has expanded to include Pokémon outside the Unova Pokédex. In addition, the new forms of Kyurem, Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, will also be featured. The app will be available on July 14 for ¥1500 at the Nintendo eShop. The original app will be removed from the eShop on June 17, but updates will continue for the rest of the year.
